Free Webinar
April 22, 2pm CST
This webinar is a collaborative MayDay event hosted by Texas Collections Emergency Resource Alliance (TX-CERA) and NC Cultural Resources Emergency Support Team (CREST). Both organizations are part of FAIC's Alliance for Response (AFR) Initiative. Join us as presenter Adrienne Berney, the Outreach Coordinator for the State Archives of North Carolina and NC CREST Coordinator, provides an overview of how to develop and practice a triage system for cultural heritage collections and the recommended supplies necessary to facilitate this part of disaster recovery. Participants will receive webinar access along with a reminder the Friday before the event.
State Archives Outreach Coordinator, Adrienne Berney, has worked for the N.C. Department of Natural & Cultural Resources since 2010, providing field services for history and collecting organizations. With a background as a museum objects curator and historian, Berney has helped colleagues develop skills in historical interpretation, collections preservation, and disaster recovery. She coordinates the Traveling Archivist Program, the Federation of N.C. Historical Societies, and the Cultural Resources Emergency Support Team. Berney grew up in the Virginia mountains, earned a B.A. from the College of William & Mary, and completed her doctorate as a Hagley Fellow at the University of Delaware.
MayDay reminds us that this is a critical time to review and update emergency plans and community networks. Over the next several weeks, we will be sharing helpful preparation resources on our Facebook page and blog, and you can always check our Resources page for a variety of disaster preparation and recovery topics.
